Dear Parents, Caregivers, Staff, and Students of Eddy Elementary School:
Welcome back! I am thrilled to welcome our students and the entire Eddy community back to school! It is going to be a great 24-25 school year! We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday morning, September 3, 2024. Third grade students (and their siblings) are invited to the Brewster PTO's popsicles on the playground at Eddy on Monday, 9/2/24 from 3-4pm to meet classmates and for parents and caregivers to meet one another and the PTO. Like years past, students should plan to be at school each day by 7:40am, and breakfast is available before school (free for all, thanks to the Massachusetts Legislature). Students may be dropped off starting at 7:25am in the front circle, and school starts every day promptly at 7:45am with the pledge of allegiance, announcements, and a reminder of how to be Eddy R.E.A.D.Y.! This year, our priorities include:
Continuing our work building a strong and positive school community through our use of Eddy R.E.A.D.Y. to teach our core values of respect, empathy, accountability, determination, and your best;
Building a school community where everyone belongs and feels welcomed and supported;
Providing deep learning opportunities for students that are both rigorous and engaging;
Celebrating and sharing the amazing work our students and staff do every day at Eddy Elementary School;
Expanding our communication through social media, podcasts, videos, and our new Nauset website - and if you don't yet, please be sure to follow Eddy on Instagram: http://instagram.com/eddyelementary;
Beginning the process of rolling out our new ELA curriculum (it officially goes 100% live for all a year from now, September 2025, and we will begin the rollout process this school year).
A few more nuts and bolts to share with you:
Student supply lists have been posted can be found here on the Eddy website;
Lunches are again free for all students! Here is the September lunch menu; future menus can be found on the Nauset food services website. Students' PINs are the same as last year, even if they were at Stony Brook last year;
Mark your calendars for Back To School Night: Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 5:30pm (third grade), 6:00pm (fourth grade), and 6:30pm (fifth grade);
Picture Day is Thursday, September 19, 2024. More information about signing up is forthcoming!
Please join me in welcoming new staff to the Eddy community! We have several folks new to the Eddy community, and some staff who are taking on a different role at Eddy:

Mrs. Faris will also teach third grade general music, and teach students instrumental music lessons, including band after school on Wednesdays, and strings/orchestra after school on Thursdays. Happy retirement to Mrs. Belliveau!
Ben Colgan is our new general music and chorus teacher. Mr. Colgan will teach chorus on Tuesdays after school, and also teach fourth and fifth grade general music classes.
Thanks to Lower Cape TV for capturing the excitement about coming back to school in this great video!
Here's to a great school year! As always, please reach out to your student's classroom teacher, Sonja Bono our school adjustment counselor, school nurse Melissa Miller, or me with any questions or concerns. We are looking forward to a great school year of growing and learning together!
