Brewster in Bloom Parade information!!
Dear Stony Brook and Eddy Families,
We are getting excited for the upcoming Brewster parade this Sunday (5/3) and have been very hard at work creating an amazing float to represent our schools! This year's theme is "Brewster Beach Day"!
We are asking for donations of individually wrapped candy to share with parade viewers. If you are able to contribute, please send in bags of candy to your school’s main office by Friday afternoon.
We are also looking for as many families as possible to walk with us in the parade! It’s a wonderful way to show school spirit and be part of this fun community event. Every family that signs up HERE to walk will be entered into a raffle for a prize! Of course, anyone is welcome to join us on the day of the parade—just remember that all children must be accompanied by an adult. The parade will step off from the Eddy Elementary parking lot at 1:00 PM, traveling west on Route 6A to Swamp Road. If you plan on walking, we will dress in blues, greens, and purples. Beach hats, shades, and floaties are also welcome.

Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up (May 4–8), and we’re excited to celebrate our incredible teachers with a fun “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” theme!
The PTO is organizing a week of small, daily treats along with a special celebration at the end of the week. To make this happen, we’re asking for your help with donations:

📦 Drop-off: Food items can be sent in with your child or dropped off at school any time before your assigned day (all items should arrive by 7:30 AM on the day they’re needed).

Earth Day Clean Up with Mrs. O'Shea's first graders
Earth Day is April 22, 2026.
Do something to celebrate our planet!
Good afternoon,
If you are picking up at dismissal, you may have noticed a slight adjustment to our procedures. In an effort to keep the short-term parking spaces, as well as the designated handicap spot, available through the end of the school day, we are asking parents to begin the pick-up line away from that area.
Once dismissal begins, we will return to our usual system of pulling forward so students can be dismissed to your vehicle. This adjustment ensures that families picking up a sick child, or those needing access to handicap parking, can do so up until dismissal begins at 2:00 PM.

Stony Brook FUN RUN Time Change
Due to the presents the geese have left on the field, we are going to move the Fun Run inside for Friday. It will take place in the gymnasium, and it will be with one grade level running at a time. With that said, here is the adjusted schedule by grade level for Friday.
Kindergarten - 8:10 - 8:55 AM
Grade 1 - 9:00 - 9:45 AM
Grade 2 - 9:50 - 10:35

We’re about halfway through our Fun Run fundraiser and have met our halfway fundraising goal of $10,000. This means our students have earned a pajama day for tomorrow Wednesday March 18th!
Our next fundraising goal is $15,000 and will earn the students some extra recess time!

Boosterthon Update and FUN at Stony Brook
We had such a great Program Day 3 with all of the staff and students. On our quest, Leo and Luna taught us how to bravely face anything that comes their way with Courage.
