Mr. Adam O’Shea began his career as a reading specialist in the Catskill Region of upstate New York.Soon after he became a 4th grade teacher in the same school and later moved to Northern Virginia and continued as a grade level teacher. 

The draw of cape cod was strong and the opportunity to join the Nauset District became a reality in 2012. Mr. O’Shea accepted a grade 3 teaching position in Brewster at the Eddy School. Although this endeavor would only last one year before an administrative position piqued his interest, the school and the position were a fond and rewarding memory.   

For the last 11 years, Mr. O’Shea has been a school building leader and has held positions at the elementary and middle school level within the Monomoy School District as Supervisor of Elementary Curriculum, Assistant Principal, and Principal. His desire to foster the best learning experience for the children of the cape is evident in all his decisions.  

Mr. O’Shea fell in love with WES long before he joined the Wellfleet Elementary Team. For much of his youth, he was fortunate enough to visit the town for week-long stays and, when given the option, he quickly chose to spend summers working in a variety of positions in Wellfleet. “There is no better place than Wellfleet and the school embodies its community.”    

Mr. O'Shea received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education  from Plattsburgh  State University,a Masters’ Degree from Cortland State, and a Certificate of Advanced Study from LeMoyne College. These universities are located near his hometown of Homer, New York. 

Mr. O’Shea is happily married most days and enjoys the company of his roommates, Owen and Addison, who attend the neighboring school, Eastham Elementary.
