Congratulations to our Nauset Mock Trial Team who had another win today, defeating Monomoy 92 to 80! Nauset once again played Defense and it was held at the Barnstable District Court. Are next trial will be on Wednesday January 29th against Sturgis West.

Nauset’s Winter Track team finished their regular season with an impressive 6-1 record, with their only loss coming against their toughest competition, Dennis-Yarmouth. While the regular season has ended, the team looks ahead to key postseason events, including the Cape and Islands League meet, coaches’ invitational, divisionals, and the relay meet, with hopes of qualifying for regionals.
Captain Adrianna Morgan noted, “We have a strong team but not a lot in numbers,” emphasizing the team’s determination despite being smaller than many of their competitors. The limited roster means athletes often compete in multiple events at each meet, which can be challenging but also enjoyable for most of the team. Captain Isaiah Robinson reflected on this while sharing his favorite memories from the season, expressing his excitement about running the 4x200 relay with Co-Captain Aidan Brown, who returned to competition for the first time since recovering from an injury.
Although each meet is officially scored as a head-to-head competition between two schools, multiple teams from the league often share the indoor track facilities during these events. This setup not only creates a lively and competitive atmosphere but also gives athletes an opportunity to observe and gauge the strengths of other teams they might face in postseason meets. It allows them to strategize, understand their competition better, and prepare for future challenges in larger, multi-school events.
The team celebrated senior night this past Tuesday, marking the end of a quick and “bittersweet” season as Captain Maddy Mahoney says. However, the season is far from over for many of the Track athletes, and we wish them luck in their upcoming events. Go Warriors!

Congratulations to Nauset Mock Trial team who won their season opener at the Barnstable District Court house beating Sturgis East 101 to 94 in the preliminary rounds of the Mass Bar Mock Trial state wide competition.
